The Health Policy and Evaluation Division focuses on how health policy, access to patient care, and social determinants of health impact disparities in health outcomes including cancer. The division also co-leads the evaluation and implementation efforts for the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) assessing how the CTSA contributes to research across the T1-T4 research spectrum.

As part of our CTSA evaluation efforts we are conducting continuous process improvement projects guided by Lean Six Sigma principles to improve process flows in research administration and annual user satisfaction surveys, coordinate turn the curve planning for NCATS common metrics among other efforts. The division’s expertise in evaluation has contributed to the successful CTSA application, a submission for a CTSA administrative supplement, and the award of an external evaluation contract with the culinary education program for school-aged children.
